Which is, of course, the point. It's basically the lottery.

The large events like they Millionaire Maker pretty much are. We really should get a SOTSG league going one week. it really does make the games a lot funner to watch.

I've just started doing these two dollar 50/50 games for now, it's not such a crazy long shot every week. 2 for 2 on those so far.

how much do you win in those?

3.60.

I've done some higher dollar ones too with some success. Point is, those million dollar contests are a waste.

shammy, we can turn this into our own personal thread like favra and speedy with cricket or rugby.

Anyways, I have been playing the Million Dollar kick off that is $3 entry and the winner gets a $100,000. Is there something else I should be playing instead.

For example I have 186+ points with Jonathan Stewart going tonight and I am just under 10,000th place currently winning $11.

Here was my lineup

Matt Ryan 25.08
Todd Gurley 26.6
Jonathan Stewart
Travis Benjamin 5.6
Malcom Floyd 25.2
Julio Jones 36.2
Bejamin Watson 32.7
Brandon Marshall 22.8
Rams 12

If I had Brees instead of Ryan and Stefon Diggs instead of Benjamin I would have an interesting night tonight. Still, this is the best I have ever done and had great hits on Malcom Floyd and Benjamin Watson and still will net less than $10.

Your thoughts?

Don't play that one. That's my advice.

That's a good score. That contest is basically a lottery ticket and lot of pros playing max entries in it. Maybe look at smaller single entry cash games or 50/50's.

Yeah I'm gonna start doing a bunch of 50/50 leagues from now on.

I finished with just over 200 points for 2945 place winning $25. I should probably retire from DFS as that is probably the best I will ever do.

Just withdrew all of the money they would let me from DraftKings. It wasn't much at all (a majority of the credit I have there was won through contests on fantasy sites) but yesterday's news out of New York makes me a little worried for the future of these sites so I figured I should get while the getting was good.

What are the SOTSG big spenders' thoughts on this (the recent news, not my withdrawal of about $20)?

I think it could go either way. No one except casinos wanted to be associated with online poker, but the leagues and even Disney are in bed with these sites now. There's enough of a vested interest in keeping them going that the fight should be vigorous on both sides.

The Economist summarizes the current state of the industry.

The thing that surprised me the most was the note in the last paragraph about how all the recent negative publicity didn't stop last week from being the biggest betting volume day ever.

Yeah I don't think they can reasonably put the cat back in the bag here.

Ha I forgot Durden worked at one of these companies. Hopefully he did a lot of cheating to win some jackpots back when the companies allowed it...
