Who wants to throw in some cash?

Postby TheBuckNut » 19 Sep 2005, 08:33

To have Daunte Culpepper killed? Anyone? Who's with me?

This guy looked so good in the preseason, and now what? 8 INTs and 0 TDs in 2 games. He is destroying my fantast team.

Honestly, I've rarely seen anything like this before. In fact, just like Simmon's Ewing Theory, this whole idea needs a name. I say we call it the Shaq Principle, based on what happened to Penny Hardaway once Shaq left for the Lakers.

An overrated player on a team with a legit superstar looks much better than he really is because of the other guy's talent. When the superstar leaves town, the media and fans think the player will be as good, if not better. The player proceeds to fall flat on his face.

Recent examples: Penny Hardaway (ORL), Jeff Garcia (SF), Dante Culpepper (MINN).

Culpepper's problem is his abnormally small hands. Circus folk. Smell like cabbage.

I think we should do a cash FFL league this year. I'm taking a list of interest. I'll be commissioner so I don't have to deal with your goddamn proclivities for individual defenders. $25 a head, 12 people, must have at least 500 posts to qualify. Any interest? First place $200, second place $75, third place gets their money back.

If I double my post count before it fills up.

Doubtful.

Maybe we lower the post count to 250. I just don't want people signing up just to play the league. You're in if you want.

Ill do it
Are you proposing an online draft?
PS: I will never like July 27th. It will always be the day Reggie died. I just hate this day. True Celtic fans know what I mean.

Yes. I'm open to suggestions on everything but individual defenders vs. team defenses. I suggest something like this:

1 - QB
2 - RB
2 - WR
1 - RB/WR
1 - TE
1 - K
1 - DEF
7 - Bench

Relatively standard scoring (points per reception?). Standard snake draft on Yahoo. We'll set a time well in advance so people can plan on being available. Money needs to be received before the draft.
