My mother used to get mad at me for saying such vile words as "fart" and "butt," so no wonder I'm warped.

Not nearly as good as MTM's story, but an actual exchange I had with a co-worker.

"Who's this guy with the new show on HBO?"
"Bill Simmons, used to write for ESPN.com was on NBA Countdown a couple of seasons"
"Would I like him?"
"Do you think Bismack Biyombo is like Adebisi from Oz?" [Note: he had brought up Biyombo in conversation like 10 minutes earlier]
"What? Did he actually say that" [I give him the "yeah I"m serious" look]. "That's so dumb. [pause]. I probably would've watched that show and you just totally ruined it for me."
"You're welcome."

Mom: "I watched that Simmons show."
Me: "Ok."
"He is fucking obnoxious. Stop talking over Barkley, learn how to conduct an interview."
"Yeah, he'll do that."
"I only watched to see if Affleck really was drunk. He was. And bloaty and sweaty, but Simmons, fuck that guy. That won't last a year. So unoriginal."
"Did he mention Teen Wolf?"
"HE DID!"

Bill is stupid

What about Simmons himself? Did he bang the drum about subscriber losses back in 2013? No. He admitted that when he gave an interview with Peter Kafka of Recode in March 2015, he had no idea that cord-cutting was such a serious issue
PS: I will never like July 27th. It will always be the day Reggie died. I just hate this day. True Celtic fans know what I mean.

Disney's cable networks do $8 billion a year in direct ad revenue, and I'm assuming a 50/50 split between ESPN and ABC.)

Even if that math is slightly off, the entire podcasting industry booked $167 million in revenues last year and $34 million in 2015,

BUT IF THEY PRAWPAHLY MAWNETIZED MY PAWDCAST, THEY NEVAH WOULDA LAWST A DIME! NO ONE DENIES THIS!

In fairness, I don't think we have a unit of currency small enough to measure the cost of 30 something internet writers.

Like, how goddamned dumb is this sentence?

1. ABC is not a cable network
2. Disney's $8B a year in ad revenue from cable networks.....................................I wonder what else DISNEY might have in their cable channel portfolio. Maybe DISNEY has some other CHANNELs that bring in ad revenue. I wonder what DISNEY CHANNELs they might own?

It's actually much more coherent in context. I kind of mangled it to keep it short and to the point. Weirdly out of character for me, I know.
