Sorry guys. TheCommish went on hiatus for a bit...

The NEW Non-Euro International team (Be scared):

1-Nash, S 16pts/11 ass/1 stl /35 min per game
2-Deng, L 13 pts/6 ass/ 2.5 stls/29 min per game
3-Ginobili, M 16 pts/4 rebs/.39 3pt% /30 min per game
4-Duncan, 21 pts/12 rebs/2.7 blks/ 35 min per game
5-Yao, Y 19 pts/9 rebs/2 blks/32 min per game

Magloire 14.1 pts/9.1 rebs/32 min per game
Hilario, N 10 pts/6 rebs/1 blk/25 min per game
Najera 4.3 pts/2.9 rebs/15 min per game
Mutombo 4.0pts/4.4 rebs/1.1 blocks/14 min per game
Arroyo 7.7 pts/ 4.8 ass/.7 stl/ 24 min per game
Bell, (Raja) 12.2 pts/1.4 ass/.374 3p%/28 min per game
Garcia 5.5 pts/2.3 ass/18 min per game

As for the actual games:
-I contacted whatifsports and it is not possible for us to conduct single-game matchups.
-Corolla, would you be willing to plug our teams into your x-station? This seems like our only option right now unless there are any other ideas out there.

Um, as someone who actually prides himself on being a nerd, I'm going to have to admit to the embarrasement of owning neither an X-Box nor a Playstation. My EA days were all back on the original PlayStation.

That said, doesn't whatifsports.com offer free membership to stripped-down leagues? The season is only 10 games (instead of 82), you only get one substitution, players don't get tired or injured, etc. That may all be total crap or just old info - but I thought I saw it somewhere on the site.

Snake, thanks for doing this!

I propose a mini-regular season series to determine playoff seeds. Each team should play each other twice (one home and one away). In the event of ties for regular season records, the tiebreaker will be as follows:

a. Results of head to head mathcups.
b. Better point differential from head to head matchups.
c. Better point differential for all games.

Playoff format:
a. First round: Best of 5
b. Second round: Best of 7

Comments? Proposed changes?

That all sounds fine.

So I would assume we need to kinda set rotations then? First guys off of the bench? stuff like that? Which obviously wouldn't be a problem at all.

Just give me your bench guys in order. I'll take order the rosters however you like and run it. I'm not sure a regular season is necessary to determine seeds, at least on paper it looks pretty obvious that the black guys are #1, the non-Euro guys and their twin towers are #2, the Euros #3, and the white guys #4. If there is a strong desire for a round robin I'm OK with it, but with only 4 teams I don't know if it's enough of a difference.

Snake,

Thanks again for doing this.

If nobody else objects, I'll agree with your seedings (and bypass of regular season).

I'll get you my starting lineup w/bench soon.

I think it sounds great. Who is doing the announcing for the games? I for one, nominate Magic to do the color commentary.

Marv Albert will be on play by play with Tom Tolbert on color. The halftime show will feature Charles Barkley, Ernie Johnson, and the first guy fired from ESPN's new dream job series, whoever that may be. Also Magic Johnson will be locked in a room far away from the cameras for the duration.

How many games should I do a night? I figure maybe 1 game from each series and I'll do a quick recap based on the boxscore for a little more fun. Can't guarantee it will be every night though.

Europe's final decision. This looks odd, but I am thinking this will give the cpu enough flexibility to not have to worry about an especially bad lineup ever being out there. It also looks like it might accidentally rotate through several very different roster styles.

Tony Parker
Bostjan Nachbar
Andrei Kirilenko
Pau Gasol
Dirk Nowitzki

with bench of:
1. Zdrunas Ilgauskus
2. Peja Stojakovic
3. Vladimir Radmonovic
4. Raul Lopez
Michael Pietrius
Gordan Giricek
Marko Jaric
Mehmet Okur

I really do. I also really deserve tons of laughter at my expense, but I can live with it. I love that goofy f*cker!

Seriously, though, I'm crazy picky about not having too many scorers in any lineup. I think I'm unreasonably scarred by some traumatic intramural experiences. I'm probably wrong about it, but I can just never bring myself to advocate a lineup with a bunch of guys who seem to need the ball. Why put Peja in a lineup with Gasol and Nowitzki when he can be the star while they're on the bench? Plus the idea of Nachbar and AK-47 both on the floor at tip-off gets me going.
