Deitsch is the guy that loves Kenny Albert and Dick Stockton as announcers.

As Deitsch admitted, Jim Miller, the guy that wrote the ESPN oral history, said that first. Agreed, it is probably true. Who picks her up? Does the Ringer have any openings?

I thought we had already moved her to MSNBC or The View. Or maybe The Chew. No way to know really.

Hasn't this been the play all along? Your Sportscenter show sucks out loud, so midas whale cause a ruckus, claim racism, then ride the SJW wave to a cushy network gig.

Exactly. No one thought this was going any other direction, right?

It is possible that these are genuinely held beliefs.

I'm just trying to figure out what you think she's exactly gaining here. She's certainly getting a higher profile but it's not like she's an up-jumped blogger trying to make her way onto network TV, she's been with ESPN for over a decade. There's a difference between benefiting from a belief and cynically using it to get a new job. She strikes me as genuine in her beliefs.

I don't think it's impossible that it's a little of both. She may very well be genuine in her beliefs, but can't she also have her shitty platform to get those beliefs out there, knowing that it could likely lead to her being higher-profile and ending up with a cushier gig?

Sure, it's possible. I'm not really sure what cushier gig she's getting though. Is a co-host of The View a cushier gig than hosting a prime SportsCenter? Is an MSNBC show sandwiched between Maddow and Chris Hayes a cushier gig?
